Job summary

SpaceXSI in Bellevue, WA, seeks a Platform Core engineer to design, build, and operate the lean Linux-based OS powering our AI supercomputer network fabric. You will work on the lowest software layers interfacing with hardware and network fabric, maximizing performance and minimizing footprint.

Responsibilities include writing high-performance drivers, deploying in production, and collaborating with hardware teams to bring up OS and software on next-generation hardware.

Qualifications

Hands-on systems programming in C or C++.
Strong operating systems fundamentals (scheduling, memory management, I/O).
Understanding of computer networking (host OS stack; switches/routers).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the lean, high-reliability Linux-based operating system that underpins our supercomputer network fabric.
Write (or rewrite) high-performance device drivers to extract maximum capability from our hardware.
Manage deployment, operation, and debugging of our platform in production, including root-cause analysis of anomalies.
Develop and improve observability and configuration-management tools.
Collaborate with hardware teams to design the next generation of supercomputer hardware and bring up OS/software on it.
