Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for the Linux Kernel in the Starlink program in Redmond. You will design and maintain a lean Linux-based OS powering the satellite network and AI supercomputer stack, and you will write high-performance device drivers to extract maximum hardware capability.

You will deploy, debug, and improve tooling while collaborating with hardware teams to bring up new hardware and ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, math or science or 2+ years software experience.
• Hands-on system programming in C or C++.
• Deep Linux kernel or alternate production kernel knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a lean, high-reliability Linux-based OS for the supercomputer network.
• Write or rewrite high-performance device drivers to maximize hardware capability.
• Deploy, operate, and debug platform in production; improve observability and config tools.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up OS on next-gen hardware.
