Job summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Linux Administrator to support secure IT systems and project baselines as part of a three-person contractor team. You will manage Linux environments, scripting, and virtualization while ensuring security compliance and effective health monitoring across multiple projects.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly clearance, with a focus on ATO status maintenance, baselining, and adopting new technologies in a virtualized architecture.

Qualifications

• Nine+ years of Linux administration experience.
• Nine+ years of Bash programming experience.
• Seven+ years of Perl and Python programming experience.
• Seven+ years of Red Hat/CentOS Linux experience.
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, XML, Java/J2EE).
• Three+ years of virtualization experience.
• Three+ years of Puppet 3+ experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides IT system implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance support for client/server/storage/network devices.
• Provides escalation and status communication to agency management and internal customers.
• Configures and manages Linux operating systems and network components; enhances OS for reliability and performance.
• Creates Bash scripts to aid system stability and deployment repeatability.
• Manages daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provides Tier I (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
• Performs system capacity analysis and planning and optimizes resource utilization.
• Delivers detailed analysis and feedback to management for escalated tickets.
• Loads OS software, troubleshoots and maintains integrity of network components.
• Supports migration to new baselines and health dashboards.
