Job summary

J&T is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator (Level 2) in Annapolis Junction, MD to support enterprise IT operations. You will manage Linux and Windows systems, perform escalations, upgrades, and hardware installs, while ensuring STE compliance and secure data transfer workflows.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, a technical degree or extensive experience, and strong CentOS/RHEL/ Rocky Linux skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus at least 10 years of Systems Administration experience on similar scope programs or contracts, OR
15 years of relevant Systems Administration experience without a degree (additional 5 years can substitute for the degree).
Strong Linux administration experience with CentOS 7, Rocky Linux 9, and RHEL 9.

Responsibilities

Configure, manage, patch, and maintain Linux (CentOS 7, Rocky 9, RHEL 9) and Windows OS across enterprise environments.
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting and incident diagnosis for client, server, storage, and network components.
Perform hardware/software installations, system upgrades, and migrations for servers and workstations.
Support STE requirements and secure data transfer workflows.
Optimize system operations, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
Manage ticket escalations and track hardware dispatch resolution workflows.
Ensure network component integrity and OS enhancements.
