Job summary

Level Up, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AVIAN, seeks a senior Linux Systems Administrator to maintain and improve the Sponsor's Linux software and hardware environment. You will ensure operating system integration with hardware and applications across the organization and keep servers running reliably.

In this role you will plan, test, install, harden and patch Linux servers, develop test plans, manage lifecycles, document configurations, and collaborate with application development, network

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years configuring and maintaining Linux servers.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline, OR 10 years of related technical experience may be substituted for education.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience with complex, intertwined systems and data flows.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating IT documentation.
• Experience with domain account management via Centrify, LDAP, and AD.
• Experience applying security patches in Linux environments.
• Strong shell scripting experience.
• Ability to manage a large, complex server environment.
• Understanding hardware components and troubleshooting/replacing as needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Planning, testing, installing, integrating, and maintaining Linux OS versions.
• Building and hardening Linux servers; establishing configuration baselines.
• Applying security/firmware patches; maintaining patch management plans.
• Developing test plans and procedures.
• Replacing server hardware components when necessary.
• Testing and integrating software/hardware.
• Managing OS lifecycles; establishing environments.
• Designing interfaces to external systems; documenting configurations.
