Job summary

Select Search Associates LLC is seeking a Linux Enterprise System Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and support Linux infrastructures in a high-security environment. The role requires diagnosing issues, communicating with varied stakeholders, and handling on-premises, VM, and cloud environments with a TS/SCI clearance (CI polygraph acceptable).

The candidate will upgrade software, test patches, and integrate new technologies while ensuring security and reliability.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or similar field preferred, relevant work experience may be substituted.
• 5+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator (Enterprise).
• Ability to build/maintain/administer servers
• In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux operating system.
• Good knowledge of several scripting languages (Linux based)
• General understanding of IP networks, switching, subnets and VLANs.
• General understanding of hardware to include Servers, Blade Chassis, Fiber Channels, SANS.
• Ability to respond to support requests after hours.
• Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing environment.
• Knowledge of system security concerns and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with RH Directory Server or FOSS alternatives.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.
• IA certification (either Security+ or CISSP).

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage system infrastructure including, databases, testing computer equipment, and other software and hardware.
• Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues that may arise.
• Perform system monitoring and analysis verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, performance tuning and troubleshooting of servers, software and hardware and respond to anomalies.
• Regularly upgrade system software and firmware as required.
• Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system.
