Job summary

Amentum is seeking a highly experienced Linux Administrator to support secure IT systems for high-availability environments. The role focuses on Linux configuration, scripting, virtualization, and automation, aligned with customer needs across multiple projects. TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required.

The position emphasizes ongoing maintenance, system monitoring, and reliability improvements, with opportunities to work in a collaborative, mission-focused team.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
• 9+ years of Bash scripting experience.
• 7+ years of Perl/Python programming experience.
• 7+ years of Linux (Redhat/CentOS) experience.
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML/XML/Java EE).
• 3+ years of virtualization experience.
• 7+ years of Puppet 3+ experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
• Support hardware issues and participate in resolution processes.
• Configure and manage Linux operating systems and related software.
• Develop Bash scripts to improve stability and deployment repeatability.
• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide Tier I help desk support and issue resolution.
• Perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide detailed feedback to management on escalated tickets.
