Job summary

Bentley University is seeking a Senior Library Circulation & Operations Coordinator to plan, organize, and supervise library operations in alignment with policy and space management goals. You will oversee repair/maintenance, collaborate with administrators and partners, and manage long-term space initiatives.

The role requires strong customer service, supervisory experience, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience; library experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills; sympathetic and professional.
• Excellent supervisory and organizational skills.
• Ability to train, supervise, motivate and evaluate student employees.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student assistants and perform customer service at Library Services Desk.
• Participate in Saturday work rotation (approx. 9 Saturdays/year).
• Serve as primary contact for library facilities and coordinate safety issues.
• Act as liaison to vendors and service providers for status reports.
• Function as internal project manager on library projects and space inventory.
• Coordinate office moves and installations of equipment and furnishings.
• Build positive working relationships across university departments.
• Coordinate library events and room reservations including catering.
• Provide general administrative support and budget input as needed.
• Handle confidential information appropriately.
