Library Systems & Services, LLC is seeking an Assistant Library Director to oversee Circulation and Technical Services, supervise staff, and enhance patron experiences. You will present the library to the community in meaningful ways to boost visits and usage.

The role requires MLS credentials, supervisory experience, and a track record in managing programs and data. Flexibility for evenings/weekends and strong communication are essential.

Formación

• ALA-accredited Master of Library Science or Master of Library and Information Science degree required.
• One to three years of public library experience preferred.
• Management/supervisory experience required.
• Experience tracking usage statistics, data collection and excel reports.
• Ability to build strong staff teams and develop staff.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Accommodate a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Excellent technical skills, including familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Suite, and knowledge of various technologies.

Responsabilidades

• Manages the Technical Services team and Circulations Services team to hire, train, schedule, assign tasks, motivate, evaluate, and develop staff.
• Help manage library Collection.
• Supervises and provides leadership for day-to-day operations of the library.
• Develops, plans, promotes, and participates in programs and events.
• Gathers and maintains data for reports documenting activities under responsibility.
• Writes and implements program grants.
• Provides effective communication on procedures to staff and public.
• Assist with HR policies, procedures, and processes.
• Responds to and resolves patron issues, including account questions and policy enforcement.
• Maintains an attractive, organized library, incl. displays and shelving order.
• As needed, work customer service points.
• Know and administer ALA Library Bill of Rights and related statements.
• Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.
• Provides backup to the Library Director as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
