Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Senior Counsel in the Bellevue area to manage a caseload of higher exposure and complex litigation for insurance defense matters. You will leverage extensive trial experience to advocate, negotiate, and achieve favorable outcomes for insured clients while mentoring junior attorneys and coordinating with claim partners.

Ideal candidates will have a Juris Doctorate, a license to practice in relevant states, and a strong track record of courtroom

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong aptitude for trying cases to a jury; proven track record of litigating jury trials.
• Advanced oral and written advocacy skills with successful outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of bench, bar, and local jurisdictional practices.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate with colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation.
• Leverage trial experience to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and strategy recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
