Job summary

The Liability Claims Manager at Troon will oversee non-employment liability claims and outside litigation from notice to closure, reporting to the Executive VP & General Counsel. You will direct strategy, manage reserves, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with outside counsel, insurers, and facilities to protect Troon’s financial and legal interests.

This role requires disciplined follow-through, strong judgment, and clear communication with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; professional risk designation is a plus.
• Five+ years in claims, litigation, or risk management.
• Experience managing outside counsel and directing strategy.
• Knowledge of claims handling, discovery, reserving, and settlements.
• Understanding general liability, property, auto, and insurance concepts.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage non-employment liability claims through outside counsel and TPAs.
• Oversee outside litigation strategy, budget, and resolution outcomes.
• Set and adjust claim reserves reflecting exposure and risk.
• Negotiate settlements to protect financial and legal interests.
• Support discovery, evidence preservation, and witness readiness.
• Track certificates of insurance and ensure additional insured coverage.
• Analyze loss trends and drive mitigation across the portfolio.
• Provide timely reporting to GC and leadership on status and outcomes.
• Coordinate incident response with field facilities and management.
• Liaise with carriers, brokers, and program matters; manage costs.
