Job summary

BitGo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve the ledger systems behind our clients' balances, trading positions, and financial reporting. You will design double-entry ledger primitives and ensure financial correctness from day one.

You’ll collaborate across Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to model legal entity ownership, ledger placement, pricing, and reconciliation paths, and to design scalable data models for new financial products such as margin, lending, and

Qualifications

• Double-entry bookkeeping fundamentals and chart-of-accounts design.
• 5+ years in backend software engineering with data-model ownership.
• Ability to design extensible schemas and APIs.
• Experience with crypto/blockchain infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and extend core ledger—accounts, postings, and ledger structures that power financial products.
• Own the chart-of-accounts and reporting surface connecting engineering data to financial statements.
• Work across the boundary between on-chain data and off-chain books: balance verification and reconciliation.
• Partner with engineering teams early in design to model ownership, ledger placement, pricing, and reconciliation paths.
• Design data models to absorb new financial products with minimal migrations.
