Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Manager, Leave Administration to lead the company’s leave program and guide a team through complex, compliant leave management. This on-site role requires partnering with HR, Legal, Payroll, and risk management to ensure compassionate and accurate service for Team Members.

You will oversee FMLA, ADA accommodations, and multi-state leave programs while monitoring performance and reporting trends to leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR experience in leave/benefits programs.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in HR operations or employee services.
• Experience administering FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and state leave laws.
• Strong understanding of employment requirements affecting leave administration.
• Experience interpreting regulations and applying sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the Leave Administration Team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant service.
• Oversee all Company leave programs (FMLA, ADA, personal, military, disability, state/provincial leaves).
• Ensure policy compliance with federal, state, local, and provincial regulations.
• Develop leave policies and operational standards for consistent administration.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, Payroll, Risk Management, and leadership to resolve issues.
• Monitor leave activity, service levels, and identify process improvements.
• Use Workday and reporting dashboards to strengthen administration and reporting.
