Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Leave Management Manager to lead the day-to-day administration of the organization's leave programs, including FMLA and ADA processes, across multi-state healthcare settings. You will supervise a Leave of Absence team, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate with HR partners, vendors, and Occupational Health, and drive accurate reporting and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in leave management or related HR functions.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA leave processes, and state leave laws.
• Experience with multi-state, unionized healthcare environments preferred.
• Experience coordinating with third-party leave vendors and performing audits.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day administration of leave programs including FMLA, ADA-related leave, military leave, personal leave, and state-specific leaves across multiple states.
• Supervise Leave of Absence team, manage workloads, performance, and service delivery.
• Review and oversee complex leave cases including intermittent leave and return-to-work.
• Coordinate ADA leave administration activities and collaborate with HR, Occupational Health, Legal, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance via audits, documentation reviews, and regulatory monitoring.
• Support Director, Leave Management in achieving departmental goals, process improvements, and vendor management.
• Develop and maintain procedures, workflows, and training materials for consistency and efficiency.
• Monitor vendor performance and escalate significant issues as needed.
• Provide education and guidance to managers and employees on policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable leave laws and best practices.
