Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Lease Accountant who will work one day per week in the office in Addison, TX. The role involves leading lease accounting, coordinating with AP, and maintaining LeaseQuery data, including renewals and reassessments.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support ESG data consolidation.

• Collaborate with departments to ensure proper lease accounting.
• Coordinate with AP to reconcile and initiate lease payments in a timely manner.
• Maintain lease data in LeaseQuery, including new entries, modifications, renewals, and reassessments.
• Review lease agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly lease accounting journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile ROU assets, lease liabilities, deferred rent, and prepaid balances.
• Analyze lease-related fluctuations and provide explanations for financial reporting.

Senior Lease Accountant - Only 1 Day a Week in Office

• Collaborate and consult with various departments to ensure proper lease accounting.
• Work closely with the AP team to reconcile and initiate lease payments, ensuring they are processed completely, accurately and timely.
• Maintain and administer lease data within LeaseQuery, including:
  • New lease entries
  • Lease modifications
  • Renewals and extensions
  • Reassessments
  • Early terminations
• Review and abstract lease agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly lease accounting journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile lease-related balance sheet accounts, including:
  • Right-of-use (ROU) assets
  • Lease liabilities
  • Deferred rent accounts
  • Prepaid lease balances
• Analyze lease-related fluctuations and provide explanations for financial reporting.
• Assist with the monthly determination of branch count based on licensing and locations.
• Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual lease footnote disclosures.
• Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and accounting policies.
• Interact with external auditors regarding quarterly lease schedules and in maintaining effective internal controls.
• Assist in the collection, validation, and consolidation of ESG data across business functions.
• Maintain documentation of processes and procedures around data collection, verification and audit.
• Perform large-scale data management and environmental performance data analysis, with specific detail to Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
• Assist with the identification, and implementation of internal controls related to ESG reporting.
• Gather and analyze metrics related to:
  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
  • Energy consumption
  • Water usage
  • Waste and recycling metrics
  • Employee diversity and workforce demographics
• Perform data quality reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of ESG information.
