Job summary

Mortenson seeks a Senior Lean Engineer for its Solar group to foster a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement within Pre-Construction teams. You will harness data, lead cross-functional Lean initiatives across design, supply chain, and operations, and drive fast, sustainable improvements with Kaizen workshops and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and field experience.
• Internship experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Strong continuous improvement principles and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to facilitate workshops and training.

Responsibilities

• Drive Lean initiatives across Preconstruction, Supply Chain, and interfaces with Operations.
• Analyze workflows to remove waste and improve flow and value.
• Facilitate Kaizen workshops with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Organize and analyze data and communicate via clear metrics and dashboards.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to simplify work and generate insights.
• Develop and maintain process maps and standard work to standardize processes.
• Support sustainment of improvements with ownership, adoption plans, and monitoring.
• Partner with project teams to resolve operational challenges and improve performance.
• Apply Lean methods to improve safety, quality, productivity, and schedules.
• Monitor progress against goals and performance metrics.
• Promote one-piece-flow and reduce WIP and batching.
• Coach team members in Lean thinking and problem-solving.
