Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Lean Technician I or II to join our Solar Team. You will support crew leads and forepersons by applying kaizen-based continuous improvement to boost safety, streamline processes, and improve project outcomes on site.

This is a 100% travel role with relocation to project sites. Compensation varies by experience and location, with pay ranges shown below for two levels. The position offers growth through lean methods and is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Experience applying lean methods (kaizen).
• Ability to work full-time on site in remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project leadership to support continuous improvement onsite.
• Coordinate with project team to plan and execute kaizen events.
• Participate in kaizen workshops with project teams.
• Assist with lean tools (GEMBA walks, DMS, idea capture).
• Reinforce continuous improvement principles post-kaizen events.
• Support forepersons in observing work and adherence to standardized work.
