Job summary

The City of Boston's Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) seeks an Assistant Director for the Office of Housing Stability. This senior role leads programs, staff, and policy initiatives to prevent displacement and sustain stable housing for Boston residents.

The position requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning across city departments. The Assistant Director will supervise the Housing Crisis Coordinator and Eviction Prevention teams, coordinate budgets and program

Qualifications

• Five+ years in housing, affordable housing programs, homelessness prevention, tenant advocacy, or program management.
• At least two years supervising and managing staff.
• Bachelor's degree in public policy, urban planning, social work, or related field; advanced degrees a plus.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and manage diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of all programs and staff in the Office of Housing Stability.
• Direct supervision of Housing Crisis Coordinator and Eviction Prevention teams.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for day-to-day operations.
• Lead policy research and support development of new programs.
• Coordinate strategic planning, performance tracking, and MOH priorities.
• Represent the Director in communications with landlords, nonprofits, and public agencies.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and data-driven decision making.
• Attend night and weekend community meetings as required.
