Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Deputy Director of Housing Authority Operations to lead the Housing Authority and voucher programs. This role reports to MOHCD leadership and collaborates across divisions to ensure compliant, equitable, and efficient service delivery.

The position requires strong public administration experience, HUD program knowledge, and the ability to drive organizational performance while advancing the City’s housing goals amid complex stakeholder environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in affordable housing/public administration.
• Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience managing complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight of Housing Authority operations and voucher programs.
• Ensure compliance with HUD, state, and local requirements.
• Lead daily operations, including program administration and participant services.
• Collaborate with MOHCD and Housing Authority leadership to align strategy and resources.
• Lead staff, foster accountability and equity.
• Oversee budgeting and financial performance with cross-department coordination.
• Represent MOHCD in public forums and intergovernmental meetings.
