Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Lead System Engineer to own the design of chiller and heat pump equipment for the North American portfolio. You will guide a cross-functional team through DFMEA, DVP&R and stage-gate processes to deliver reliable, cost-effective systems.

Based in La Crosse, WI with 5–10% travel across the US, the role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 7+ years of HVAC design/manufacturing experience. Hybrid work supports collaboration with in-office Mon-Thu and flexible Fridays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related technical discipline) and at least 7 years of experience in design or manufacturing of industrial products.
• Experience with HVAC equipment and systems is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to coach and mentor a design team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and release of chiller and heat pump equipment from concept through design deliverables.
• Lead cross-functional development to translate MRD to PRD and PDD artifacts.
• Develop and validate DFMEA and DVP&R to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Collaborate to apply DFM principles and own product cost models.
