Job summary
Trane Technologies seeks a Lead System Engineer to drive design for chillers and heat pumps, guiding a cross-functional team to deliver efficient, decarbonized cooling solutions. You will manage design development, cost, and reliability across subsystems, with travel to collaborate across sites.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 7+ years in industrial design/manufacturing, with strong CAD/PLM experience and HVAC expertise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 7+ years in design/manufacturing of industrial products.
- HVAC equipment and systems experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design release of chiller and heat pump equipment from concept through release of design deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional development to translate MRD into PRD and PDD.
- Ensure proper engineering specs for component selection and qualification.
- Lead concept/design reviews and ensure design integrity across subsystems.
- Develop and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R for reliability and quality.
- Collaborate to implement DFMA principles and cost targets.
- Own product cost models and ensure alignment with cost requirements.
- Work with management, manufacturing, quality, and project teams to meet requirements.
- Travel domestically 5–10% between Pueblo, CO and La Crosse, WI.
