Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a team responsible for evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale network including wired and wireless infrastructure. The role interfaces with state and local personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to design and implement secure, scalable network solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong WAN/LAN expertise, CWNA/BCNE or equivalent certifications, and hands-on experience with RF tools, Wireshark,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information systems or related discipline.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent; BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau, RF Scanners and Wireshark.
• Strong knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP).
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing; penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure for large-scale projects.
• Evaluate current networks and design integrated wired/wireless solutions.
• Provide architecture guidance, testing procedures, and QA for network deployments.
• Monitor infrastructure and implement security patches and firmware updates.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources on best practices.
