Job summary

CGS is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure for government projects. You will collaborate with state and local personnel, vendors, and internal teams to ensure secure, reliable network operations.

The role requires strong routing, switching, security, and RF skills, plus experience with monitoring, documentation, and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, CS, Business, IS or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalents.
• Experience with RF site survey tools and packet capture.
• Strong network security and routing knowledge.
• Experience with disaster recovery and agile project management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting using network management software.
• Develop and maintain network infrastructure documentation (diagrams, tickets, Wiki).
• Review best practices; provide architecture and design recommendations.
• Administer onboarding processes for wireless networks; monitor health; apply security patches.
• Assess and optimize NPS infrastructure; define testing procedures for new projects.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions within NPS projects.
• Conduct training and knowledge transfer on best practices.
