Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team focused on evaluation, enhancement, and maintenance of a large-scale network project that includes wired and wireless infrastructure and related hardware and software.

The role will design and implement a unified network and advise on hardware and software needs, testing, and security assessments with state/local personnel and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Strong documentation skills updating Jira, Wiki, and Network Diagrams.
• Ability to communicate with end users and cross-organizational staff.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent.
• BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools like Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark.
• Knowledge of VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP.
• Knowledge of 802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, CA.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Agile/ Scrum project management knowledge.
• Linux, MS Server 2013, VMware, etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation for the NPS network.
• Review best practices and provide architecture recommendations.
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless health, and apply patches from 0800–1700 PST, Mon-Fri.
• Assess the NPS network and recommend improvements.
• Define and conduct testing procedures for new projects.
• Implement technology solutions within the NPS environment.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for NPS projects.
• Provide informal training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
