Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee EPC projects in the energy sector. You will act as primary mechanical lead, manage scope, budget, and schedules, and coordinate with internal teams and clients to deliver high-quality designs.

The role covers reviews, design deliverables, P&IDs, 3D models, and equipment specs, with mentorship to engineers, and ongoing pursuit of process improvements and standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across organizational levels.
• Capable of managing multiple assignments under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled in reviewing and directing project schedules and control processes.
• Familiar with ANSI, ASME, and NFPA regulations.
• Experience with core mechanical calculations (flow rates, pressure drops, equipment sizing).

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for mechanical engineering on assigned EPC projects, overseeing scope, budget and timelines.
• Conduct third-party mechanical reviews and ensure quality assurance when needed.
• Own mechanical design deliverables and serve as the registered engineer of record when required.
• Execute or evaluate a range of technical tasks using current tools and standards.
• Review and prepare P&IDs, layout drawings, 3D models, isometrics, line lists and equipment specs.
• Collaborate with internal EPC teams and clients to respond to RFIs and manage engineering procurement tasks.
• Guide project direction, prioritize tasks, and align with project/company objectives.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight to other engineers.
