Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team in Southeast Houston (Pasadena). You will supervise a project execution team, manage scope, quality, schedule and budgets for petrochemical projects, and coordinate change management.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in design/construction in petrochem, and familiarity with ETAP/PowerTools SKM; Texas PE license preferred or obtainable within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years in engineering design and construction in petrochemicals.
  • Texas PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Strong knowledge of power system studies: load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, arc flash evaluations.
  • Familiar with API, NEMA, IEEE, PIP, NEC codes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartPlant Electrical is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities and lead a project execution team
  • Responsible for scope, quality of work, schedule, budgets and execution planning
  • Identify scope changes and coordinate change management
  • Prepare cost competitive man-hour estimates and assist with proposal preparation
  • Managing the cost and time constraints of multiple projects at one time
  • Prepare and maintain all safety and environmental aspects of a project
