Job summary

ASML Holding in San Diego invites a Senior Laser & Optics Design Engineer to join our Source Research team. The role blends optical and laser system design, modeling, hands-on experiments, and validation to mature next-generation high-power LPP-EUV light sources and DUV lasers.

You will work with scientists and engineers to translate evolving needs into concrete subsystem designs, lead design reviews, plan tests, and deliver results on schedule. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s with extensive experience in laser/optics, photonics, or related field.
• Strong foundation in laser and optical system design, integration, alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience translating evolving system requirements into practical subsystem designs and verification plans.

Responsibilities

• Execute detailed design, integration, and validation of laser and optical systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet program objectives.
• Develop and use models to guide design decisions and reduce risk.
• Translate system needs into subsystem requirements, interfaces, and verification criteria.
