Job summary

ASML US, LP is seeking a senior professional to guide high-level laser architecture and system-level validation. You will model systems, lead cross-functional teams, and drive experimentation from concept to demonstration across laser and optoelectronic subsystems.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years (or MS degree with 6+ years) of relevant experience in laser physics, optics, photonics, electrical engineering or equivalent field.
• Proven track record of identifying system-level needs and decomposing them into specific technical directions.
• Understanding of laser physics, engineering and control.
• Hands-on breadboard laser and optical system design, alignment, and performance characterization.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and facilitate collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Guide the development of high-level architecture definitions for laser design, including discharge type and gas flow.
• Lead product pathfinding from low TRL to system-level validation.
• Create models of the system (optical, gain, gas flow) to identify improvements.
• Maintain bi-directional requirements between lasers and other system functions.
• Design experiments to advance technological progress of the lasers and meet roadmaps.
• Demonstrate system-wide performance targets and analyze tests to extract insights.
• Develop and execute system/subsystem performance tests and troubleshoot issues.
• Document learnings and communicate across engineering and product teams.
• Work independently and in teams to deliver objectives and pursue new capabilities.
