Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead-level claims professional in Washington who investigates and maintains highly complex property claims, determines liability, secures information, arranges appraisals, and settles claims in the field. The role requires 5+ years of field property experience and state licensing; relocation support is offered.

A fleet vehicle is provided and travel up to 50% (75% in catastrophe).

Qualifications

• Proven ability to handle 1st and 3rd party field property claims
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to interpret policies and endorsements across multiple coverages
• Experience in field-adjusting and on-site inspections

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys and others
• Participates in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage and exposure issues
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates with insureds and attorneys
• Provides timely updates, answers questions, and closes files as needed
• Mentors less experienced adjusters and shares domain knowledge
• May participate in additional assignments or projects based on skills and experience
