Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead level field property claims specialist in Oregon to investigate complex claims, determine liability, secure information, and coordinate appraisals and settlements. The role is field-based with travel to office for meetings occasionally; a fleet vehicle is provided.

You will report to a Large Loss Senior Manager and mentor junior adjusters. Expect to handle 1st and 3rd party claims across multiple policy types with on-site inspections and negotiations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• Ability to handle 1st and 3rd party multi-line claims.
• Strong knowledge of policy endorsements and coverages.
• Customer-driven solutions and excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure homeowner claims.
• Performs on-site inspections and negotiates settlements.
• Handles claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Provides status updates and answers inquiries to stakeholders.
• Mentors less experienced adjusters as needed.
• May participate in special projects.
