Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead-level property claims professional in the Oklahoma City area for a primarily field-based role. You will investigate high exposure homeowner claims, determine liability, review coverages, and secure appraisals while maintaining independent, high-competency claims handling in the field.

You will travel up to 50% (catastrophe travel up to 75%), with a fleet vehicle provided.

Qualifications

• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• 5+ years’ experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Preference for handling claims over $50,000.
• Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable; state licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate origin and cause of high exposure claims; coordinate with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors and others.
• Conduct on-site inspections and evaluate damages; negotiate with insureds and claimants.
• Review coverages, arrange appraisals, and determine applicable coverages and endorsements.
• Mentor less experienced adjusters and provide guidance on complex claims.
• Communicate status and processes to all parties and close files as needed.
