Job summary

LJA is looking for an experienced Project Manager in Land Development to coordinate and manage a wide range of civil engineering projects. You’ll lead design, permitting, budgeting, and client interactions across residential, commercial, and institutional developments.

You will oversee project engineers and designers, ensuring compliance with codes, timelines, and budgets while delivering technically sound and financially feasible designs. Join a culture of ownership and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering license.
• Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience in land development design and management.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Project coordination from inception to completion, including due diligence, planning, entitlements and permitting.
• Budgeting, scheduling, consultant coordination, project tracking and billing.
• Prepare and oversee civil design for site geom, grading, drainage, roads, water and wastewater.
• Develop design drawings, specs, reports, cost estimates and related deliverables.
• Analyze technical information, perform engineering calculations and advance concepts.
• Prepare technical reports such as due diligence, feasibility, design memos.
• Provide technical support through all project stages from RFP to construction.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for various projects/tasks.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations and provide leadership to junior staff.
