Job summary

McGuireWoods seeks a Senior Associate or Counsel in its Labor & Employment Department to handle sophisticated employment matters at the crossroads of corporate transactions and leadership transitions.

You will advise corporate clients and private equity sponsors on issues arising from acquisitions, divestitures, and post-closing integration, collaborating with cross-functional deal teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of relevant legal experience in labor and employment counseling, transactional matters, or sophisticated employment law matters.
• Experience counseling on a wide range of employment issues including discrimination and wage-and-hour matters.
• Experience advising employers on workplace policies, compliance, employee relations, and HR matters strongly preferred.
• Experience with employment issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, private equity transactions, and post-closing integration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients and collaborate with deal teams on a broad range of employment matters.
• Advise on workplace policies, compliance, employee relations, and HR issues.
• Lead employment-related due diligence in corporate and private equity transactions.
• Manage complex employment matters and transactional workstreams with senior leadership oversight.
• Mentor junior attorneys and provide guidance on complex client matters.
