McGuireWoods LLP seeks a Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Labor & Employment Department. This role sits at the intersection of employment law, executive mobility, and corporate transactions, and supports high-stakes matters with leaders across healthcare, private equity, and M&A teams.

You will counsel on complex employment issues arising from acquisitions, divestitures, leadership transitions, restrictive covenants, and post‑closing integration, with visibility across the deal teams.

Qualifications

• Seven years of relevant legal experience in labor and employment counseling, or related sophisticated matters.
• Experience counseling clients on employment issues including discrimination and wage-and-hour matters.
• Experience advising employers on workplace policies, compliance, and HR matters preferred.
• Experience with employment issues in mergers, acquisitions, and post-closing integration.
• Admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on workplace policies, employment compliance, and HR matters.
• Advise on restrictive covenants and wage misclassification issues.
• Lead employment-related due diligence in corporate and private equity transactions.
• Independently manage complex employment matters and coordinate with deal teams.
• Advise senior executives on sensitive personnel and governance issues.
• Provide mentorship to junior associates.
