Job summary

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Labor & Employment Department. This role focuses on sophisticated matters at the intersection of employment law, executive mobility, and corporate transactions across national markets.

You will advise corporate clients and private equity sponsors on employment issues arising from acquisitions, leadership transitions, and post-closing integration, while collaborating with Healthcare, Private Equity, and M&A teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of labor and employment experience.
• Experience counseling on employment issues in M&A or corporate transactions.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience advising senior executives and in-house counsel is preferred.
• Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction is required.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on workplace policies, compliance, and HR matters.
• Lead employment-related due diligence in corporate and private equity transactions.
• Advise on restrictive covenants, wage misclassification, and related issues.
• Manage complex client matters and coordinate with deal teams.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to high-quality workload.
