Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
• More than 10 years of phlebotomy experience.
• 3-4 years medical office experience.
• General understanding and application of basic accounting principles.
• Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization.
• Knowledge of computerized billing system.

Responsibilities

• Performs front desk and phlebotomy duties in ambulatory lab.
• Registers demographic and insurance information, schedules patients.
• Verifies insurance and patient details, collects co-pays and balances.
• Ensures correct specimen labeling and alignment with requisitions.
• Follows laboratory SOP and maintains positive patient relations.
