Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program.
• More than 10 years of Phlebotomy experience.
• 3-4 years medical office experience.
• General understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization.
• Knowledge of computerized billing system.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy specimen collection with accuracy and safety.
• Handles front desk duties including demographic and insurance registration.
• Schedules patients and verifies insurance information at check-in.
• Manages cash collection and postings in the GE Front Desk Credit Card Module.
• Maintains revenue cycle knowledge related to patient encounters and payments.
• Follows policies and promotes positive guest relations.
