The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of phlebotomy experience in a high-volume setting, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and current BLS certification. Chain of Custody certification is preferred, with up-to-date 49 CFR Part 40 training.
The Lead Phlebotomist is an instrumental first point of service contact for patients, vendors and visitors who are provided services within the Laboratory Department. The colleague provides general support for functions related to their specific tasks and adherence to the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. The Lead Phlebotomist is also responsible for performing administrative and clerical tasks to support the laboratory’s operational functions, including data entry, maintaining records, filing reports, answering phone inquiries, and assisting with patient specimen collection coordination, all while adhering to established laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
