Job summary

Merck is seeking a Senior Lab & Clean Utilities Technician to provide equipment troubleshooting and maintenance support for our Durham, NC production facility. You will calibrate, maintain, and repair process equipment, develop SOPs and PM plans, and manage SAP work orders and change control.

The role requires 5+ years of plant maintenance, GMP experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of plant maintenance experience with instrumentation, electrical, plumbing, and advanced mechanical systems.
Familiarity with GMP manufacturing operations and regulatory requirements.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work on platforms and above floor level; good physical condition.
Proficiency with MS Office, PLCs, CMMS, calibration databases and SAP.
Strong leadership, planning, scheduling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform routine calibrations (flow, level, temperature, pressure, humidity, speed, process instruments).
Install, test, adjust, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot complex automated process equipment.
Develop SOPs, ECRs, PM plans and calibration procedures as required.
Manage SAP work orders, spare parts and equipment histories; support change control.
Work with multiple departments; ensure safe and compliant maintenance activities.
