Job summary

Merck & Co. in Durham, NC is seeking a Senior Calibration Technician to maintain equipment data, perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and related documentation within our GMP-compliant manufacturing operations.

The role uses SAP for PM data entry and reports, with ProCal calibration entries and MES/DeltaV systems. You will troubleshoot equipment, support maintenance programs, and help ensure on-time delivery and quality across the plant.

Qualifications

• One year or more of manufacturing/processing experience.
• Willing to work 12-hour day shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Must pass aseptic gowning qualification and be willing to work in aseptic operations.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Computer literacy including internet, email, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with operations and scheduling to prioritize work and guide improvements.
• Maintain schedule adherence for preventive maintenance and calibration activities.
• Use SAP to review work orders, manage stock, and document equipment histories.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs using diagnostic tools.
• Identify calibration/maintenance program improvements to stay compliant with GMP and safety.
• Assist in vendor management and contracting for parts and services.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and handle occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
