NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn seeks a Senior Laboratory Assistant (Phlebotomy) to support daily lab operations, including specimen management, processing, inventory, and communication with providers. This role focuses on front-end and back-end sample handling and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

The position is 18.75 hours per week, location Sunset Park, with opportunities to contribute to patient care and laboratory efficiency in a teaching hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with biology/chemistry credits and coursework.
• Laboratory experience handling blood and body fluids.
• Experience with LIS or specimen accessioning preferred.

Responsabilités

• Screen and accession specimens in the LIS per lab policies.
• Maintain general lab supplies and document inventory needs.
• Ensure proper receipt and storage of materials per regulations.
• Handle front-end processing of samples for analysis (labeling, centrifuging).
• Prepare samples for storage and disposal according to policy.
• Assist with blood product modification and inventory management.
