Job summary

Divergent in Los Angeles area designs, manufactures, and assembles advanced systems for demanding industries. The Senior Equipment Engineer-Mechanical will own the mechanical systems of production L-PBF equipment, mentor technicians, and drive reliability across the fleet.

You will troubleshoot motion, gas flow, cooling, and powder handling, collaborate with Development Engineering, and push improvements through change and configuration management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or advanced production environments.
• Experience owning sustaining performance of production equipment through launch or ramp.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting with electrical and controls knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead root cause investigations (RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree).
• Ability to work across engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and service teams.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical issues on assigned equipment and drive RCCAs end to end.
• Mentor technicians and operators to disseminate knowledge into the system.
• Support Service, Operations, and Quality with technical guidance and improved instructions.
• Drive cost reduction through equipment optimization.
• Contribute to fleet reliability data, trends, and prioritization of work.
