Job summary

Divergent in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior AM Process Development Engineer to drive improvements in Laser Powder Bed Fusion, qualify materials, and optimize print parameters for cost and performance.

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams; author specifications and support disposition of quality non-conformances; leadership in developing AM workflows and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and/or technical project management.
• 5+ years developing L-PBF equipment, process parameters, and/or print file programming.
• U.S. export controls/ITAR compliance knowledge required.
• Ability to handle AM metal powders with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME in Laser Powder Bed Fusion to drive improvements and reduce cost.
• Define project scope, align stakeholders, prioritise resources, and communicate status.
• Characterize and qualify improvements to L-PBF equipment for consistent quality.
• Develop print file toolpath generation techniques to meet cost/performance goals.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on feasibility and risk.
• Write and maintain engineering specifications for material consistency.
• Support disposition of AM quality non-conformances and root-cause actions.
