Job summary

Divergent invites applications for a Senior Additive Manufacturing Equipment Engineer in Los Angeles to own and advance production L-PBF equipment. You will collaborate with controls, software, mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to resolve complex problems and raise overall equipment effectiveness.

You will drive transitions from qualification to sustained manufacturing, implement standardized configurations, and contribute to future factory scale with strong RCCA and maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or advanced production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and/or controls systems.
• Experience with structured root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the transition of newly developed production equipment from qualification into sustained manufacturing.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and process-related issues affecting production, adapting established methods to new problems.
• Apply and improve engineering standards that ensure consistency across production assets.
• Provide production feedback to design engineering on machine performance and reliability.
