Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a Lead Kubernetes Architect to shape enterprise Kubernetes platforms across AKS and GKE, guiding architecture, standards, and lifecycle strategy.

The role partners with Cloud Engineering, Security, Network, SRE, DevOps, and application teams to establish reference architectures and best practices for secure, scalable container hosting. The candidate will lead multi-cluster design, platform resiliency, automation, observability, and GitOps-driven delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or cloud engineering experience.
• Demonstrated enterprise experience architecting, implementing, and supporting Kubernetes platforms (AKS, GKE, EKS).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code in Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience developing and operationalizing a Kubernetes lifecycle support model (upgrades, Day 2 operations).
• Strong Kubernetes fundamentals: cluster design, networking, RBAC, security, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise Kubernetes platforms across AKS and GKE from planning through production deployment.
• Define and maintain Kubernetes reference architectures, standards, and reusable platform patterns for secure hosting.
• Develop and execute a Kubernetes product maturity roadmap aligned to Humana’s Cloud Platform strategy.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps delivery models for platform provisioning and workload enablement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to onboard applications and build platform capabilities that improve developer experience, security, and ops consistency.
• Facilitate architecture reviews, roadmaps, and design sessions with diverse stakeholders.
