Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a Lead Kubernetes Architect to direct enterprise Kubernetes platforms across AKS and GKE, shaping standards, roadmaps, and Day 2 operations.

You will partner with Cloud Engineering, Security, and SRE teams to deliver secure, scalable container platforms and enable automated deployments. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, mentoring engineers and driving platform adoption at enterprise scale within Humana’s cloud strategy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software/ platform engineering or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience architecting, implementing, and supporting Kubernetes platforms (AKS, GKE, EKS).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code in major clouds.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise Kubernetes platforms across AKS and GKE from planning to production.
• Define reference architectures, standards, and reusable patterns for secure, scalable container hosting.
• Develop and execute a Kubernetes product maturity roadmap aligned to Humana’s strategy.
• Lead lifecycle management, Day 2 operations, and platform reliability across multi-cluster environments.
• Drive adoption of GitOps, IaC, and CI/CD for platform provisioning and workload enablement.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve developer experience and security.
• Advise on capacity planning, observability, security controls, and cost optimization.
