Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking an Associate Director of Knowledge Management, Senior KM Counsel, to lead and develop the KM team across practice groups, guiding strategy and workflow. The role oversees engagement, resources, and materials, while leveraging data to deliver market insights to clients and partners.

The position requires a JD/US Bar and 10+ years of management experience in a top international firm, with strong litigation, regulatory, or tax KM expertise.

Qualifications

• JD or its equivalent is required and admission to at least one US State Bar.
• Minimum of ten (10) years in progressively responsible practice management in legal or professional services.
• Minimum of ten (10) years in a management role.
• Minimum of eight (8) years as a practicing attorney with a leading international law firm in litigation, regulatory, or tax.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop KM team members (KM Counsel and KM Lawyers).
• Structure and oversee KM strategy, engagement, and workflow for the Practice Group.
• Develop and execute KM strategy with annual and ongoing priorities and adequate resourcing.
• Distill internal deal datasets to derive market insights for internal and external use.
• Monitor deal landscape and communicate trends to practice leadership and clients.
• Collaborate with Technology & IS leadership and AI teams on AI-based workflows for provisions extraction.
• Protect confidential and proprietary information of the firm.
