Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking an Associate Director of Knowledge Management, Senior KM Counsel, to lead KM strategy for the Banking & Private Credit, Private Equity Finance, Restructuring, and Structured Finance practice groups. The role advises Partners and Chairs and coordinates KM programs across multiple offices, with hybrid/in-office flexibility.

The candidate will oversee KM teams, structure engagement with practicing lawyers, and drive data-driven insights while safeguarding confidential

Qualifications

• JD or its equivalent required.
• Admission to at least one US State Bar (or equivalent jurisdiction) required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible practice management experience in legal or professional services.
• Minimum of ten (10) years in a management role.
• Minimum of eight (8) years as a practicing attorney with a leading international law firm, with significant experience in finance transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and supervise KM colleagues assigned to the Practice Group to ensure excellent performance.
• Develop framework for involvement of practicing lawyers in KM activities and allocate workflow between lawyers and KM team.
• Distill internal deal/matter datasets to prepare market insights for internal and external use.
• Monitor legal, regulatory, and market trends, and develop materials to communicate insights to members, clients, and prospects.
• Collaborate with Technology & Information Services leadership to drive AI-based workflows for extracting and analyzing provisions from databases and documents.
• Protect and maintain highly sensitive information held by the firm.
