Job summary

Pura Vida Miami Llc seeks a seasoned Kitchen Manager to lead kitchen operations in California. You will supervise, train, and motivate staff, ensure quality and adherence to standards, and manage safety and compliance across shifts.

Responsibilities include staff onboarding, delegation, policy enforcement, and occasionally stepping in as a line cook to cover roles as needed. A culinary background is preferred and a passion for high-quality, wholesome food is essential.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience in a food production facility, fast paced restaurant, or full dining service.
• Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
• Local/municipal requirements such as Food Handler certification
• Experience in training and developing kitchen staff
• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations and work closely with Assistant Kitchen Managers and MITs.
• Supervise and provide clear communication regarding job responsibilities to kitchen personnel.
• Foster a culture of quality and consistency within the kitchen team.
• Provide comprehensive training to kitchen staff on prep work and food presentation techniques.
• Responsible for the selection, onboarding and retention of team members through motivation and coaching.
• Delegate and follow up on tasks while remaining accountable for kitchen and team members.
• Offer clear direction to kitchen staff for effective execution of tasks.
• Maintain oversight of kitchen operations to ensure health and fire safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards; company policies.
• Emphasize safety, sanitation and security awareness and training of team members.
• Contribute to development and enforcement of kitchen policies during shifts.
• Step in as line cook when required.
