Job summary

Pura Vida Miami LLC is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations, staff supervision, and training. You will help manage food costs, uphold safety standards, and ensure quality across all menu items.

The role requires hands-on leadership, organizational skills, and experience training kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment. Local benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a food production facility, fast-paced restaurant, or dining service.
• Local/municipal Food Handler certification acquired at applicant’s expense.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Experience in training and developing kitchen staff.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Flexibility to work closing shifts and weekends.
• Certified culinary school or degree in restaurant management is a plus.
• Comfortable using a computer and standard office and POS software.
• Must be able to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen personnel and communicate expectations with the Kitchen Manager.
• Observe performance and provide coaching as needed.
• Assist Kitchen Manager with recruitment, selection, promotion, and development of staff.
• Support action plans to improve operating results and staff development.
• Collaborate to streamline operations, manage food costs and efficiency.
• Provide product feedback and assist in menu additions.
• Help ensure policies and procedures are followed during shifts.
• Facilitate training sessions for kitchen staff on prep and presentation.
